In the United States and Canada, all sorts of grants and incentives exist to reduce the cost of taking your fleet electric. Here are the funds currently available for Michigan.
Michigan
Currently, we’re not seeing any available incentives in your area. However, you may be eligible to receive national funding. The following grants are currently available in the United States.
EPA’s Clean School Bus Program
- $2.5 billion in funding via rebates for the replacement of diesel buses with zero-emissions or electric school buses
- $2.5 billion in funding via rebates for the replacement of diesel buses with electric or cleaner alternative-fuel school buses powered by CNG or propane
The application period is expected to open in May 2022 and end in August 2022.
Tribal & Insular Area Grants (DERA) 2022
- $4.5 million in funding for electric school buses, EV equipment and emission reduction projects to tribal governments (or intertribal consortia) and Alaska Native villages
- $500,000 in funding for electric school buses, EV equipment and emission reduction projects to insular area governments
